Letters from a Luddite: 02/01/12

Welcome to Letters from a Luddite

On January 1, 2012 I disabled the data on my iPhone, turned-off my e-mail, and said goodbye to the Internet for 31 days. I chronicled the journey with a letter a day, complete with news clippings, quotes and thoughts on technology. Each letter was hand- or type-written, mailed, then scanned and posted by my friend, Marisa Ducklow, creating a conversation between friends and open to the world at large.

When I came back online (on February 1) nearly half of the letters were still in transit due to "weather, the distance, or the mood of Canada Post that week," as Marisa aptly put it. I refrained from writing in this space until all but two had arrived.
